I will, I shall and I intend to as soon as the heat breaks. To the above; thanks, that's exactly what I needed to hear. Will post a report, if spirit should make the allowance on success or humbling effort, being the nature of such endeavors.
P.S., was downtown in PS and chatted with some guys with the PSS&R....bought a T-shirt. They have a booth every Thursday during villiage fest.
Spirit affords all allowances of nature.

I did Leatherneck Ridge in late May and plan to do it again this Sunday, July 26th. Last time it took me about 7 hours in May but I started from Tram Parking Lot not Highway 111 (I think during the Summer it is the only reasonable way to do it). Here is my GPS tracks: http://www.trimbleoutdoors.com/ViewTrip/2951743 in which this route seemed ideal compared to what I did 3 years ago by skrting right and left of the actual ridge for some dumb reason. Not much bushwacking in general but some class 2 scrambling as long as you do your best to stay on top of the ridge even if it seems easier to skirt along the side.

Eh? Because of the longer days? Isn't the heat downright awful? (if not deadly)

I completed Windy Point Ridge "Leatherneck" yesterday starting from the Tram Parking lot. It was 107 in Palm Springs and in the 90s throughout the lower half up the ridge. The heat was disgusting!!! I would not recommend it for anyone who does not have high heat experience. Won't be doing anything like that again until October at the earliest. It was 70 degrees at 9:00pm up at the Tram. There was really no escape from the heat. Burned through 4 liters of water. Should have brought 6.

4 liters was enough? That is very surprising. Maybe I sweat too much.

I was extremely thirsty by the end of the hike. 6 liters would have been the correct amount of water for me. 4 was just enough to survive .
