Went up the 10am Tramway today Sept 24 and was out the door at the top at 10:10. Went up Sid Davis and continued cross country up to the trail in the bowl below Jean. Took the trail to Miller (11:50), on to San Jacinto (12:20) just tagging it, continued to Folly (12:40) and had some food and water. Then cut over to Drury (1:30), on to St. Ellen (2:30), Marion (3:00), Shirley (3:30), and Jean (3:50). Got back to the Tramway at 5:20. TOTAL time 7 hours 10 minutes, 15 miles, over 4,000 feet up and down, and all 8 peaks over 10,000 feet in one day.
To get in shape for this hike I did Mt Baldy on Sept 23, starting at 6am, on top at 8:30. Took a half hour break to eat and drink and then (Fast hiking and running) back down in 1 hour 15 minutes. Heading to the High Sierra tomorrow for 4 days, maybe when I get back I will go for the San Gorgonio 10,000 foot peaks again like I did 2 years ago in two days, I don’t think I can do them in one day.
