In need of a guide to the summit

Postby MikeErlanson » Sat Apr 05, 2014 3:19 pm

Hi, my wife and I are planning to do the Cactus to Clouds hike and starting in the early morning of Easter Sunday (April 20th). Having heard some people having difficulty with following the trail in spots.
I was wondering if anyone was a guide that would be for hire that was interested in doing it on Easter Sunday. We have hiked quite a bit including Mt Whitney and are training for running hiking the Inca Trail in June, so in that respect we do have some hiking experience. If interested, please drop a response.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike. There will most likely be a lot of people the trail with you. You shouldn't have any problem finding your way.

Mike,

I'll add from my experience as a first-timer that there were little points here and there where it was challenging to find the trail, the majority of those between the Museum and picnic tables. Keep going up and we found it easy to re-locate the trail. Just lots of rocks and lots of trails different people have made. After the tables, it was pretty straightforward. I would imagine those with no cross-country trekking skills could easily navigate to the peak (with the hike reliant solely on that skill set, of course ;).
