I have been looking at the Long Valley webcam daily, and noticed some white stuff, but it appears it melted quite a bit today. I am also aware of the current forecast, which appears to have a weak system coming through tomorrow into Friday -- but looks like no more than a few inches of snow. I have never hiked on a single track trail in solid snow or ice cover, so the obvious concern is for safety -- especially at the traverse. I just called my local REI and held 2 pairs of Kahtoola microspikes for my buddy and I -- which I will grab tomorrow.
Can any of you regulars let me know if I should be good to go with these and my trekking poles? And if anyone happens up during this week, please keep me posted on the trail conditions!
