Perfect conditions for Cactus to Clouds. Four of us are leaving at 1am and two at 3.45 am. We plan on reaching Long Valley at 8.30 am (or 9.00) together in time to join an ODC (outdoorsclub) group taking the tram and going to the peak. We all hope to be at the Ranger Station at 8.30 am or soon after.

Hi Kathy,

What time are you heading up this Saturday morning? I know Cy and Udi are also heading up. I'm thinking about heading up with a friend. We'll try out best to keep up with Cy.

Do you guys want to share a cab or work out carpooling after the hike?

Climb on!

Spanish Needle in the southern Sierra has also caught my eye for Saturday or Sunday; so I'm not sure which direction I'm headed yet. If I do C2C, I'll probably start at about 4:30 am.

Four of us left the museum at 1.00 am and got to Round Valley at 9.10 am. The weather was great up to 5000 ft, then it got freezing cold. We cound not stop for more than ten minutes or we would freeze. It was 34 degrees at the tram at 9.10 am. Micheal's group continued to the peak. No cars were vandalised this time. There were lots of police driving by. We did not see Jackie. I hope you went later.
It was 36 degrees at the upper tram station at 9.15 am

The title of this thread is ageless :) Is anyone going this coming week end?
I cant decide whether to hike Skyline with Udi's outdoorsclub group starting at 6 am from the museum or to go on the Palm Springs Road Challenge at 7 am and then taking the tram up to hike some more.
