So im aware of the current weather conditions but was wondering if ice crampons are really necessary?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also is 500 am a reasonable time to start this hike? I know if i takes us 8 hours we should reach the tram by 1. To hike to the summit is it another 4 hours?

If you don't mind sharing, what are your times for some other hikes? It is hard to help you estimate your hike time if we don't have a point of reference.

IMO, if you've never done the hike before, a 5am start time may be late, unless you don't mind hiking down in the dark.

On my last C2C, Skyline took us 6.5 hrs. After a 30 min break, it took about 6 hrs to hike the top section round trip. We took a long break on the summit.
