OK all you "regulars" and veterans. I am up here in Santa monica and ready to drive down tomorrow for a 6am start for our 2nd hike of 2013 from cactus to Tram. Every year for the past 15 we have done Spring and Fall.

Any updates on what is going on from 6-8400 feet in regard to this Storm?

Thanks so much.

Check out pstramway.com and look at the cams. Long valley cam is showing active snowing this morning.

Howdy Track :)

As of this morning, there is a dusting of snow according to the Long Valley tram cam.

Here are the NWS forecasts for:

Palm Springs:

http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.ph ... A%2C%20USA

The Tram:

http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.ph ... 7993652345

San Jacinto:

For tomorrow -- Skyliners would probably get rained on at lower elevations (below Flat Rock or 6 K) and snowed on at higher elevations (start of traverse at 7.5 K).

We'll have a better idea of how much snow is on the traverse by looking at the Long Valley tram cam later today.

The system may dump at least 6 inches on the traverse.

I've hiked Skyline in these conditions but I'm a polar bear and enjoy dramatic weather.

Miles of smiles,
Ellen

It's raining fairly heavily down here in Palm Springs. Personally I don't think tomorrow (Sat) is a good day for C2C. I would consider rescheduling. But that's just me.

Looking up from Palm Springs this afternoon looks like there is snow down to around 5000' or 6000' level.
