San Jacinto weekend

Howdy All :)

I had a 8 AM lecture on Saturday in Palm Springs, so headed up to the tram for a hike once I was done. Had to first remove make up and change clothes. Started about 10 AM and opted for the Wellman's/Hidden Divide loop. My favorite part of that loop is the section from Saddle Junction up to Hidden Divide. Miraculously, I ran into a large group that was coming down Hidden Divide. Back at the tram, I met a large group from Orange County who had hiked to the peak. Enjoyed beer and pizza before heading out.

On Sunday, the Craigmeister, Sugar (Mike Sugarman) and I did the Strawberry loop. This was Sugar's first time on most of these trails on San Jacinto and he made good use of his camera -- even zoomed in on the Palomar observatory. After peaking out, we came down the Ranger route to Sid Davis. It was depressing to see the completely dry stream at Little Round Valley  This time I enjoyed a wonderful post hike meal at Las Casuelas.

Miles of smiles,
Ellen
