OK, I'm an idiot. Didn't put a lanyard on my new eTrex case.
We went out about halfway along the snow covered Tahquitz trail (about 2/10's of a mile out of the 4/10 to the peak) when snow and post holing took the fun out of the route. We turned back and when we were heading back down the PCT toward Saddle Junction I realized my GPS was gone. I headed back and it wasn't around the junction area where we had taken a sun break.
We notified the volunteers and I left a lost gear report at the ranger station.
Not many people up there on Saturday, despite being a gorgeous day.
We'll see if the GPS ever finds its way home.
