Water Drops

Postby Screerider » Sat Mar 23, 2013 7:01 am

I've been doing the Skyline part way, getting my exercise. I usually carry extra weight. The same weight I would carry if on a thru hike.
I'm thinking that extra weight could easily be water, in which case I could drop it off at an established spot. While not one who believes in leaving caches of supplies everywhere, I understand this is already happening in a hap hazard organized way. I just want in on it.
What are the "rules" that govern this activity?

Howdy Screerider :)

The rescue boxes at 2.5 K and 5.5 K and St. Florian's cache are good spots. I've also seen water left in obvious spots just off the trail. Although inconsiderate individuals too lazy to carry enough may drink it AND leave the empty bottle :x , your act of kindness can be a lifesaver. If you do leave water, I recommend not posting about where you left it.

Miles of smiles,
Ellen
