does anyone know what the conditions are going from the top of the tram up to Round Valley, and if there is enough snow for an easy day of snowshoeing ??? any guesses ?? thanks in advance for any info.

Went from the Tram to the peak this Saturday (Through Tamarack Valley). Great conditions for snow showing! And I hate snow shoes! But I had a great time with them.

I hate snow shoes except when I don't (when they save me from endless postholing).

went up yesterday and the 10:00 am tram- took the direct route to Tamarack. The track is fairly packed down and you dont really need snowshoes to get to Tamarack. Since the purpose of my trip was to test out my Tubbs Green Mountain Bear Paws, I went off trail and did some snowshoeing. Good snow for that but it was warm (40-50 degrees). Had some lunch up there then headed down and added the desert view loop for about 5.5 miles total. Beautiful day up there. But I think we need a couple more storms to get the snow level up to get to good snow-camping conditions. Don't know what Round Valley is like but I imagine it may be getting trampled down by now.
