We hiked up the trail from the tram station upto San Jacinto today. There is a good amount of snow on the trail with spots where its turned into Ice. The hardest part is that the trail is not very visible at most places in higher altitude because of snow/wind.
We got lost pretty close to the summit, but AT&T had coverage/service there, so ended up using that to make sure we are on the right track and headed towards the summit.
At higher altitude, there were a few spots where we were knee deep in snow. Overall it was a good hike but be prepared for the terrain/weather.
We were not prepared for the snow and hiked up in regular hiking boots. Our shoes/toes were super wet and frozen. Not fun !!
It tooks us like 5 hours to hike our way up with multiple stops for pictures etc.
Way back took us just 2 hours. We moved fast because we wanted to make it back before sunset. It gets dark around 4:15. Try to get back before that.
Otherwise it is gorgeous up there. Stay safe and enjoy.
