This is a constructed trail, not a use trail. By the look of it, it might be Depression era construction (CCC).
It's got a lot of stones emplaced on its outer edge, which took a lot of time and labor.
It's about here on the Deer Springs Trail. Maybe it's an old upper leg to the Seven Pines Trail? The current route of the Seven Pines Trail where it bends south to basically meet the Marion Mountain Trail doesn't make much sense. Perhaps the Seven Pines Trail once proceeded more directly to the peak?
