Hi Doreen. I've always liked seeing your marker as well, so I'm glad you restored it. I think it's been tinkered with before, hasn't it? I remember one time it was suddenly changed to 4367 or something like that. Keep up the good work!

About those signs, from your descriptions it sounds very much like it was just somebody being a silly tour guide for the big group. As long as they took them back down it doesn't seem offensive to me. Of course, taking them back down is not optional, as I agree that if they simply left them up there it would change to litter, which we all end up picking up, trying to keep the trail as pristine as we can.

Now that the weather is getting cooler I hope to see you all out there on the trail soon.

That really sucks that people are leaving garbage along the trail. I just don't get it. You're a good enough hiker to do something special like Skyline and then you LITTER? What? :?
