We had to great time, thanks everyone for coming

It was especially wonderful to see dear friends that I haven't seen in a year or more.

Special thanks to the cooks Sally and Hikin' Jim for hauling down stoves and fixin's to make us great chili, omeletes and cupcakes. What Hikin' Jim can do with his setup is unbelievable. Not only did he have the longest commute, he braved Carmaggedon to come. Hikin' Joyce just keeps getting cuter and more fun.

Before the potluck, Perry and I had nice Tahquitz loop (minus the peak) to work up an appetite. InFerno gets the biggest calorie expenditure prior to potluck award for soloing snow creek in a mere 12 hours

I'd love another get together before the end of the year.

Vicki and I woke up late, drove all the way from San Diego, and made it up to the top of the tram by 10:30am. We only had a short time to explore before the party, so we did the very touristy "Round Valley Loop" hike. Being backpackers almost exclusively, there were trail sections that we'd never been on before, so it was worthwhile. We also got to see some of the new construction projects that the CCC had done over the summer.

Then the party started, and it was lots of fun. Plenty of good talk and laughter with like-minded people. It was nice meeting all of you! And it was much better than the usual all-too-brief hello/how-are-you/goodbye that happens out on the trail.
