San Jacinto Summit 3/11

Hello hikers and climbers. I'm visiting the area this week and hope to summit (first tram up) 3/11. I haven't found many good maps or trail descriptions although what I do see looks pretty straight up. I do a lot of climbing here at home (Cascades and Olympics). Any advice for my San jacinto adventure? Any of you going up this Sunday? Thanks!

Trail maps abound for this area. There is a summer trail from the tram to the top of San Jacinto. I think the winter route takes a fairly obvious shortcut straight up. Definitely bring a map and compass because it is very easy to get disoriented in the wilderness between the tram and the summit. Many people get lost up there in the seemingly benign terrain, but most of them make it back.
