took a dehydrated beef stew, and jet boil to go.
It was an exceptional clear day, and wind on top = ZERO!
COULD see Catalina & San Clemente islands, Coxcombs.....
Microspikes from Ranger station to Tamarack and then snowshoes from there 2 summit and back to Tamarack.
Freshies again for me from SD Drainage to start of switchbacks. Pretty easy going till Tamarack drifts where snowshoes got dusted off!, must have been stormy on Monday too>?
Only a few peeps had post-holed to summit on trail after storm.
the trail in the switchbacks has the most snow, the brush is bare!
Miller Saddle/Ridge to summit was 1-2 feet of fresh stomping!!!
I imagine it'll be quickly packed down...even on the descent I was surprised at the difference...a couple of days following those tracks and we'll need another storm for tramshooing, maybe a trip up Marion again!
there does seem to be a base building though!
Luv & Happy turkey day!,
