The bug reports have all been bad lately, all over. I was out in the San Gabriels last night and the Verdugos Monday night. Bugs were bad in both places.

Went up Devils Slide and hiked around Tahquitz Valley and Skunk Cabbage meadow yesterday afternoon and the bugs weren't bad at all.

I just spoke to an ranger at Long Valley Ranger Station, and he said the bugs are pretty bad up there. We are going up there tomorrow. Guess we will bring Ultrathon and maybe even face nets.

On Sunday 7/24 i hiked from tramway to Wellman Divide and down toward Saddle Junction and was not bothered by bugs at all. Nothing. I think different people have different bug tolerances. Of course, i was just out for the day. Maybe the bugs come out at night?
