Shuttle to Trailhead Sunday

Postby bj » Wed May 11, 2011 5:05 pm

A friend and I are doing C2C Sunday. Anybody else planning to be there that might need help with a car shuttle, or could help us? We're planning a 4 am start.

Thanx,
BJ

Howdy BJ :)

A group of us will be hiking Skyline from the desert museum to the tram on Sunday starting at 1 AM -- some may do the C2C or the "full monty" (to the summit of San Jacinto and back to the tram).

There's a good chance you'll find someone to give you a ride back to the museum.

The gate to the tram road doesn't open until 5:30 AM, so to do a car shuttle, you'd need to leave a vehicle in the backpackers parking lot on Saturday.

With a lot of people going, it's fairly cheap to take a cab back if we get the van and stuff a whole bunch in there! That might be a possibility as well, because as Ellen mentioned the tram road isn't open at the time most people are starting, so you can't get your car up there unless you leave it the day before. We've had some crazy conversations on those cab rides back...

Humm..

We set-up a shuttle car..
He bailed at the tram!
I found a guy on the summit who said he could give us a ride..
My partner didn't want to wait!
We took a cab. It was about $26 with a tip.
The people in the upper tram station were nice enough to call the cab for us. It was waiting when we got to the bottom.

Thanx for your suggestions.

Howdy BJ :)

Well, that's a bummer :( Sorry your hiking partners bailed on you at several critical points.

I agree that the tram folks are wonderful 8)
