Google Earth file of the San Bernardino National Forest

I was making some plans for a series of summer hikes when I stumbled on an excellent Google Earth KMZ file describing the entire San Bernardino National Forest.

You can get it from their "Maps and Publications" page (which I cannot seem to link to here, as their new usda.gov site has some insane url syntax that the board software cannot understand).

But at least you can download it via a direct link to the kmz file:

The file has many things to offer, such as campgrounds and ranger stations, but it's main appeal, at least to a map-junkie like me, is that it details nearly every trail and dirt road in the forest! The dirt roads are blue, the trails are brown, and the PCT is shown in green.

Whoever made this sure put a lot of time and energy into it, and I hope they get a raise back out of it. Well done!

The kmz file covers all of the San Bernardino National Forest, including Santa Rosa Mountain, San Jacinto Peak, San Gorgonio Mountain, and the Cucamonga Wilderness as far west as Icehouse Saddle (where the Angeles National Forest begins).
