First time on Mt Jacinto- advice?

Postby mlnedent » Wed Dec 22, 2010 6:17 pm

Hi!
We are going to take the tram up to Mt Jacinto on Christmas Eve. We really want to introduce our 4 year old to snow! A few questions:

1. What is the average wait time for the tram?
2. What should we bring? We want to bring a sled, food, water, etc.

It's 4 adults and one child going. We want to be super-prepared! Any other advice or recommendations would be helpful. We want to make this a day trip from San Diego- google maps said it should take us 2 hours from our house.

Thanks again, and happy holidays!

First time on Mt San Jacinto - Advice

minedent, you can purchase your tickets in advance on-line, that will eliminate the wait to go up, but depending on when you try to go down, it can be a long wait mid to late afternoon.

Two hours to Palm Springs should be a about right, if there are not traffic problems.

Make sure you bring a change of clothes for the little one, they get chilled very quickly when wet.
Happy Trails!
