Actually, the one I'm liking the best is Florian's Do Not Hike This Trail in Summer. It has the virtue of being mysterious--people are going to be more frightened by a warning that is unexplained. Why shouldn't I hike this trail in summer? Are there alien life forms there? Fumes from a volcanic eruption? Its brevity makes it more ominous. Another alternative would be Do Not Hike This Trail when Temperatures are More than 88 degrees (IMO it's fairly safe up to about 91 degrees, but we'll assume people will cheat it up a degree or two. Setting it artificially low makes them more worried.)

Anyway, I say the less information you present, the more frightening.

I also think the current warning sign, good though it is, needs to have some explanation of the danger from the hidden winter ice in the traverses, since that catches a lot of novices. There should be something on there about the necessity for ice axes and crampons.
