Yes, the forecast for the summit is pretty brutal, especially with that west wind whipping across the peak. Hopefully SJs bulk will keep if off the east flank.

Hey, what time you starting? I'm planning on the PCT, but if I get rained/snowed out, I might do Skyline. If so, we'll probably meet.

Intimidated by the collective warnings, I didn't go. I stopped checking the thread Friday afternoon, so I didn't see that both zippety and bluerail were planning to be on the trial, else I would have given it a shot. Oh well! It'll have to be after Thanksgiving.

today it was blowing, freezing rain from 3000' to 6000; and snow above that. 8" in the traverse and a very cold trip. staying home would have been nice.

Those are some great pics, Steve. I can understand not letting a little snow stop you from a hike up Skyline, but in shorts and low-top shoes?...I don't know! Nonetheless, it looked like a beautiful day.
