I'm going to go down the Guadalupe on Thursday. My friend lives in Pinyon Flats and i suggested a few weeks ago that we hike up the trail and a shuttle back to LQ. But he didn't feel up to doing the hike up so on Thursday i'll leave my truck in LQ and he'll come pick me up and we'll drive back to Pinyon. We'll hike together from Pinyon to Cactus Spring and that's as far as my friend will go. I'll continue down the Guadalupe trail back to my truck in LQ. On a weekday i'm hoping to have the Guadalupe all to myself as Hal did.

I think the cholla got me because I was looking for the Xmas cholla. It didn't want me to dismantle it.

Florian, I'd hate to hike down that thing. Bring a hiking stick. Your knees
will thank you.

I've hiked LQ to Cowboy Camp and back before. I don't mind downhill. I just take my time and meditate.

I am happy going uphill, I did so much screwy downhill yesterday, that today my quads have me walking like someone from a Monty Python sketch.

Those Chollas stick together, don't they ?

I hiked down the Guadalupe Trail on Thursday. My friend hiked with me to Horsethief Creek and i continued on my own. Was a perfect day. Didn't see anyone else all day until i was about a mile from the LQ trailhead.
