BLM land exchange final week

Postby Florian » Sat Nov 13, 2010 6:09 pm

Last day for public comments regarding the proposed Aqua Caliente-BLM land exchange is this Friday, 11/19/2010. If you haven't done so already please consider writing a short letter to the BLM at the address below asking that sections 36 and 16 be removed from the exchange. I know it's easy to put off and procrastinate but it really doesn't take long to just stop and do it. Do it this weekend. Postal letters are better than emails.

Thanks to everyone that's already written a letter, attended a meeting, or otherwise helped.

Current first class postage is 44 cents. Send letters here:

John R. Kalish, Field Manager
BLM Palm Springs-South Coast Field Office
1201 Bird Center Drive

Howdy St. Florian,

Thank you for the reminder -- written letter to Kalish will go out today. I never did receive a response from him to my e-mail letter

Miles of smiles,
Ellen

I've been told that Bono-Macks office holds snail mail for 30 days before opening. EMail is opened relatively quick.

If you want something read soon, I'd send it online.

For public comments letters are better as they will become part of the record. Also the EIR requests comments be mailed to the address shown. Email is not mentioned.

Right now with the deadline for comments so close the important thing is to get as many letters on record opposing the exchange as possible. The address i posted on the first msg in this thread is the address where the environmental impact report says comments should be sent. Of course it won't hurt to send letters to other agencies or officials as well.
