New to board & want to hike Skyline on Thurs. 11/4

Greetings everyone from a newbie to the board.

I grew up in the desert, but haven't hiked Skyline before. Looking forward to conquering this and many, many more hikes along the way.

Anyone up for showing me the ropes this Thursday 11/4 at 6 am?

I'm in decent shape, but would expect about a 5 to 6 hour pace. Not ready for a trip to the peak or even hiking back down (taking the tram back after a beer would be plenty for my inaugural journey).

take some electrolytes maybe, and at least 4 litters. Sounds like your going anyway. This weekend there will be plenty folks on the trail, if anything were to come up. Going up on a Thu., you'll find yourself much more alone. Be safe.

I appreciate the tip on this site and look forward to visiting here regularly. More importantly, I'm ready to conquering the hill and discovering many of the other trails as well.

Speaking of which, I talked to Fernando yesterday. We had a great visit and hope to connect with him soon as well. Thanks for giving me his contact info.

I'm not heading up Skyline tomorrow, but instead will do it on one of the upcoming weekends.
