I'm going to Palm Springs this weekend and was thinking about hiking to San Jacinto peak via the tram. I've backpacked in Yosemite in late summer when temps have been 80-90 degrees.
Is it safe to assume since the highs are 110/79 in palm springs that the temperature will be 80/49 on the top of Mt San Jacinto using the 3 degrees per 1000 feet rule?
Any input greatly appreciated. Thanks!
