Trail by Taquitz?

Spending a week of casual family hikes and saw a few groups on a set of switchbacks 100 yds south of the Taquitz Canyon visitors center. (not the flat falls hike).

I'm too lazy to scour the books; hoping for a quick clue about the trails name and destination.

That would be the north end of the south Lykken tr.
It "begins" at the end of Mesquite rd. an excellent tr. 1 1/2 mi. climb of 1k ft. to a few picnic benches (and great peeks way down into Tahquitz Cyn & the 60 ft. fall.
If you proceed 2 miles, you'll come to the only jct. go left to bail out early, which forks, either heading into a hillside community (no worries, it's legal access) & back to S Palm Cyn Rd. & to your car. Go straight at only jct. 1/2 mi. to other picnic benches, great views into Oswit Cyn & Indian Cyns in distance.
Lots of flowers up there now.

You can't park in the Visitor's Center parking lot. You'll need to park on Mesquite and then walk up to the trailhead.

I drive over the curb and park my truck in the vacant lot just west of the trailer park.
