Hey,
As far as this weekend I trust your're aware of the forecast...snow... If you are not using GPS and are unfamiliar with the Sid Davis drainage route(shortest most direct). I'd suggest you plan on riding the first tram(8am) and talk to the others going up where they are headed (Jean or SJ) Should be obvious discerning whose going to the summits and know the route. Introduce yourself, seek input. Inquire if you might join them.
Be forewarned, that if they're people who frequently post on this site they are, along with being very experienced on the mtn. are also in excellent physical condition. If you aren't, or prefer your own company, try to keep them in sight. It's very easy to follow someone else's tracks in the wrong direction.
Be prepared for probable white out conditions at times, especially near the summit and high winds.
The snow however should be desirable for riding, likely a little on the wet side with more accumulation in the trees. I'd expect the open (east) face to be a mix of light fresh, some wind blown and icy patches as well as some breakable crust. Hope for the best but be prepared for anything, including rain. In other words "back country skiing"
I'm planning on going Monday in hopes of less wind.
Enjoy!!
