Waterproof hiking boots will do. Snowshoes usually are what are needed but if there is any question crampons don't weigh much. The conditions change so rapidly it's hard to say from one day to the next.

Howdy Angie :)

I concur with Hal. We used snowshoes on Sunday. The snow was icy in some areas -- I was glad to have MSR Lightning Ascents for their excellent traction.

The high on the summit this weekend is predicted to be in the mid-50's with lows in the mid-30's. I don't know how much melting and re-freezing will occur in one week.

Miles of smiles,
Ellen

If you go snowshoeless, be prepared to posthole a lot.
And please, please, please, walk on the side of the trail, so you don't create divots that get skiers...the manzanita is enough of a challenge!
Many thanks.
