C2C 11-7-09

A nagging foot injury resulted in a s-l-o-w pace for me, but I managed to hobble up to the summit for another C2C while others were killing double (and even triple!) Skylines.

It was awesome meeting for the first time many of the folks who post here and hearing of their accomplishments. It looks like this is destined to become an annual event!

Dave:

What time did you head down from the summit? Did you walk by the hut area around maybe 1:30 - 1:45? I saw someone who looked like you but figured you would be doing back-to-backs not C-to-C.

I'm pretty sure I was up there about the same time as you; I talked to these two guys in your photo:

Hi Hikin Jim, yup that was me. I saw a group of people sitting off to the (climber's) left of the hut--was that you? I didn't hear any babies crying, so I guess you got the day off?

I was on the lookout for familiar people and apparently others were too. I passed one guy with a goatee and I thought it might be Lilbitmo so I called out, "Patrick?". The guy replied, "You're the third person that's asked me that today, who's Patrick?"

lol. Yep, that was us. And, yes, I got a day "off" -- although apparently no one let my boss know that. I got paged at 11:57 PM that night. Nothing like getting up early, hiking all day, and then getting paged at midnight and working until 1:00 AM. lol. Yep, nothing like it.

Well, it was a good day on the trail. Next time I'll be braver: "Dave, is that you?"
