This loop reminds me of a question that generally only occurs to me when I'm up there: Is there a way down from Law's Camp? Instead of going past Fobes on the divide and down Jo Pond, I would be all for cutting the loop down a notch to make it a 2-day. I've heard rumor of such a trail once upon a time, but know it's certainly not official now.

You are probably referring to the fabled Gordon Trail. It begins at the Andreas Club in Palm Springs and goes to Caramba.

No one has done it in years that I know of but maybe this fall.....

Okay Hal, we have been talking about the Gordon Trail for two years now. I completed my bushwack out of Blaisdell Cyn to the ranger station and am ready to tackle this one. On my last trip to Caramba I was amazed at how thick the undergrowth is around the stream. Believe that catching the ridge until you are past the Caramba pools would be the best bet.

If/when you do decide to do it this fall, please count me in! I would love to hike this trail.

From what Halhiker has posted its more of a manzanita nightmare than a hike. I may need to borrow ZippetyDude's snake guards for brush protection.
