And, Steve, we need to teach you how to use the Quote function.

Tina, don't you work in the newspaper business? We need to get you a grammar/usage checker.

 Hope so.

In your example, there are two problems. First, you need to change ( and ) to [ and ]. The parentheses, ( and ), are useful if you want to show someone the code, but if you actually want the computer to use the code, you have to use [ and ].

Also, you need to make sure the forum member's ID has double quotes both before and after the ID. For example:
(Quote=Hikin_Jim")And, Steve, we need to teach you how to use the Quote function.(/quote)
would be corrected to:
(Quote="Hikin_Jim")And, Steve, we need to teach you how to use the Quote function.(/quote)
I put the quote that needed to be inserted in bold.

Let's see if this actually works by changing ( to [ and ) to ]

voila!

One last tip: Don't click on the "Submit" button first. Click on the "Preview" button and see how it looks. If you need to, fix any mistakes, and preview again until you've got what you want. Then submit it.

Sounds time consuming, but it's not bad once you get the hang of it.
