Tram To Summit Trip Report, 04/04/09

Mark and I had contemplated hiking the Skyline trail early Saturday morning, but thought better of it and to try it sometime in May instead. So, we headed up the first tram instead and made it up to the summit of San Jacinto. The weather was perfect, not too much wind and just cool enough (35-40) to be comfortable. We took the Sid Davis route to Tamarack Valley, then went up to the Miller Saddle, then the Summit. We put on crampons to do the steep portion up to the saddle. The snow was patchy and icy until Tamarack Valley, then became a consistent and semi icy layer until about 9500', after that, there was full coverage.
