Which Route to take from Tram to Saddle Junction?

Postby kd » Tue Mar 24, 2009 1:22 pm

I was looking to the correct trail to take from the Tramway / Long Valley area to Humber Park ( or Saddle Junction).

I wanted to avoid climbing up to Wellman's divide, just to descend again.

Thanks!

Not sure if you'll see the shaded sections right now with the snow, but there is a trail that goes to hidden divide at about 8,700 feet I think. Unless you have a good topo map or GPS there is the potential to get really lost in places with no cell phone reception.

Thanks Perry,

I googled Hidden Divide and came across this link.
The book offers 3 options, only one does not go thru Wellmans Divide.
The other, Willow Creek Crossing is what I was looking for.

I will wait a couple weeks, into April before I use this route.

Do you think the chances of getting lost will be sufficiently reduced by mid April?
